  1. Kids Farm Month: – This zoo event is going on from 1st April, 2013 up to 30th April, 2013 and is sponsored by STATE FARM. It includes especial activities and events for kids. Every day of this month is encountered by special animals followed by keeper’s talks and special demonstrations. Above of all, kids can also enjoy a special giveaway from state farm; for instance, fish feeding; meet a farm animal, story time at the farm. Kids are also given special gifts at different counters. This complete year is meant to educate kids about farms and their animals as well as other important things around us.
  2. Bird Fest: – On May 11, 2013 you can enjoy bird fest at ROCK CREEK PARK NATURAL CENTER in Washington D.C. This event will start at 9 AM and will be going on up to 3 PM. This event is celebrated as migration celebration of birds. People welcome back millions of migratory birds who have spent their winters in Latin America. On the occasion of International migration bird day, this fest is co- hosted by national park service and Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center. This event will cover live music with Latin American dance performances, bird themed planetarium shows, bird hikes, live birds of prey, different educational games, bird banding demonstrations and educational games/ crafts for kids etc.
  3. ZooFari: – A finest combination of wine, fabulous entertainment, great silent auction, and animal demonstration will be held at Smithsonian’s National Zoo.  Here famous chefs like Michel Richard, Todd Grey, and Mike Isabella will also participate in the show. This exciting event will be held on May 16th, 2013 from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. For participating in this event you have to book your ticket either online or by visiting Smithsonian’s National Zoo. By participating in auctions you can get some exciting tours, animal themed arts and many other cool things. The auction is located by Great Cats Store. Apart from this you can enjoy wine from international and local vineyards. Some features vintners include Natura, The Seeker, BoxWood Estate Winery, Hope Famile Wines, and Barefoot Wine & Bubbly.   4.  Brew at the zoo: – Almost every conservationist has the same question that “WHAT CAN WE DO TO HELP?” But at Smithsonian’s National Zoo you can get the answer i.e. DRINK BEER. Here you can raise your beer glass to conservation and join FONZ at annual brew in the zoo. Here you can select best beers from more than 60 microbreweries and crafts. For entering in this event you have to book your ticket.
  5. Global tiger day: – Celebrate you Sunday (July 28, 2013) with Global Tiger Day in Great Cat Exhibit. In this event you will meet great cat keepers from Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute Researchers (SCBI’s). In this event tigers will receive special treatments in their yards. Scientists will reveal their secret tools which they use to study giant cats…
