Whether you are in a new relationship or a long established one, the holidays can bring the two of you closer as you celebrate the spirit of the season and reflect on the joys the two of you share.

Are you looking for romantic travel destinations to take your sweetheart away for the weekend? Here’s some tips and advice for weekend romantic travel destinations.

1. Go to a bed and breakfast in a town with a large Saturday morning farmer’s market. For instance, if you live in Southern California, a trip to Santa Monica’s organic farmer’s market with a stay at the Channel Road Inn would make a great weekend date. If you live in the NYC metro area and want to get out of the city for a romantic date, go to the Hastings Farmers Market in Hastings on Hudson and stay at the Alexander Hamilton House.
2. Beaches make up some of the most romantic travel destinations. Go to the ocean in the off season and you’ll have the place to yourself. You won’t necessarily be able to sun on the sand, but walking hand in hand while the sun sets on a desolate beach has got to be one of the most romantic ways to spend an evening.
3. Take a hike – Go to a local state or national forest and hike and camp. There is romance in the air when you’re outdoors. If you’re a woman, suggesting camping may be a great way to get your man’s macho side going. He’ll appreciate that you’re not just proposing fu-fu stuff.
4. Take a vacation to your own city. Oftentimes, large convention hotels are not busy on the weekends as their business trade bookings are for the weekdays. As a result, they often have luxurious rooms available for discount prices on the weekends. It’s amazing what you will discover when you take a vacation to your own city.
When you’re trying to bring romance to your relationship, a weekend getaway can be the ticket to bliss. Look for romantic travel destinations in your area.
