Spanish treasure of Nerja
Nerja is a tourism-oriented town on the Costa del Sol in the province of Málaga, which lies in one of Spain’s 17 autonomous regions, Andalusia, on the country’s southern, Mediterranean coast. It lies about 50 km east of the city of Málaga, and is within 1 hour 15 minutes drive of the Alhambra in the city of Granada, and 30 minutes more to skiing in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

With the amazing views from the town centre of the surrounding scenery, plantations of exotic fruit such as mangos and avocado in abundance, beaches and coastlines that call for your attention, you will soon realise you’re in a tropical haven. Nerja offers the staple holiday needs, big beautiful beaches, watery coves and dramatic cliff tops looking down into the ocean coupled with great restaurants, accommodation and activities. It is not difficult to understand why this is one of Spain’s top three destinations.
Something that will certainly not miss your attention is the striking backdrop supplied by the Sierra de Almijara mountains. Offering both brilliant views from below and from above these elements of nature offer challenging but very rewarding walks for those looking for a bit of an adventure or a break from the beach.
One thing to keep in mind if you’re about to set off to this brilliant holiday destination is that you are not tied or committed to staying in a hotel. There are literally hundreds of villas, condos and small houses on offer to holiday makers that allow for a self catered, free from regime holiday. A great example of what is on offer can be found at “Nerja holiday rental”, which you can find online, where you’ll find open spaces, modern amenities and privacy in all of their luxury villas.
Remember that by adding that little extra indulgence on your holiday can allow for so much more. By deciding to stay in a rental property instead of a hotel you offer yourself much more space, a 24 hour kitchen, constant privacy and a much less busy swimming pool…not to mention the lack of war games to secure a sun bed!
So if you want to witness the sun soaked beaches, the dramatic cliff edged towns and brilliant Spanish food on offer in this popular Spanish town, get yourself online and search for the best deals available to get a well catered yet inexpensive holiday away.
