Vacation has different meanings varying from country to country. It can be termed as an official or unofficial observance, mainly for festival celebrations, taking leave from the occupation or travel or journey for recreation. In North America it can be termed as a traveling abroad or a pleasure trip away from the house. It can be also described as a day on which schools, colleges are closed.

In English speaking North America a vacation is referred to as a day kept aside by a nation for a celebration. In most of the countries employers are given certain amount of days off for a vacation in Canada the legal vacation time is for two weeks and in most of the European countries this time increases significantly. In United Kingdom vacation is termed as a long summer break taken by the law courts. Easily we can describe it as a pleasure trip away from the home, for example: a vacation trip to the beach that lasts for several days. Most often in English speaking world, the term holiday is used.
In United States vacation trip is taken during the national holidays by taking the extra leave, as there are few vacations are offered in America as compared to other European countries. Here arises the term tourism and the traveling people re called tourists where they travel and stay outside their normal environment for leisure, business or for any other purpose.

In the winter months, in northern hemisphere lots of vacations are observed. Normally this period starts at the early November till the start of January. Many historical events that were happened in the nation’s history are observed as a national holiday. Unofficial vacations are not marked on any calendar but they are observed by many people or their groups. To promote any cause or to recognize any historical event these vacations are observed. With the coordination of United Nations various secular vacations are observed internationally. Some people go on vacations to celebrate it as a funny day.

Adventure travel which is a tourist activity includes activities like cultural exchange, interaction or physical activity. These kind of vacations boost your energy, gives you lots of knowledge regarding different places and important of all an inevitable experience. You can also try for adventure recreation, jungle tourism, mountain biking, paragliding, river tracking, urban exploration, rafting. There are lots of things to try during vacations and make them more excited. These vacations make you happy and get ready for your work with the fresh mind.
